Branding yourself uniquely and effectively is the key to making a place in people’s minds. Because of the tough competition these days, businesses need to differentiate themselves from others.

However, you need to follow a couple of branding tips to make your business flourish.

Using Your Personas

You cannot create a brand that does not resonate with customers. That shouldn’t even be on the list because something that the customers or the target market cannot relate to, is of no use at all. You need to create a user persona and make an in-depth selection of them. This will help to ensure that your brand speaks to the audiences itself.

This will ask of you to spend hours researching about your target audience and understanding what is it that they hate and what pleases them. Only you can come up with a branding strategy that the target market can well relate with.

Brand Story

The target audience or the existing customers are not always interested in what is it that you are offering as of now. Or what do your plans look like? Customers also take a keen interest in knowing where you come from. They want to know where did your brand start. You need to tell your audience about your story and your journey.

The success stories and the brilliant past that the brand may have had instilled an element of trust in customers. They begin to believe that a brand that delivered the best in the past will only provide something worth investing in in the future as well.

A major part of your brand story should also go into thinking that what is it that you are offering to your customers that no one else is. This will attract people more towards your brand or product. For example, working on WOW packages as a part of my work (I am a digital marketer), I had to build a story around the package and the brand in such a way that it encourages the customers to purchase the package.

Brand Positioning

You need to position your brand in the minds of the customers or target audience. Today’s organizations are facing more competition than ever before, thanks to the digital world and the low entry barriers for entrepreneurs. Therefore, it becomes essential to have a strong brand positioning that offers something unique if you want to capture your audiences’ attention.

Some of the ingredients that you would need for a strong brand positioning include:

  • Being different
  • Being focused
  • Standing for something

Select a Single Niche

You should sketch an image that your company or brand is an expert in a single thing. Do not run after adding the gazillion expertise or areas that you offer services in. It will not encourage people to purchase from your company. Because people think that there is only one thing that a certain brand or company can excel in. And that holds as well, to some extent.

Therefore, you should focus on specializing in a single thing, make it your strength and sell it to people.

Honest Customer Relationships

The only key to building a strong customer relationship is by being honest. And you as a company can display your honesty through clean branding. Do not promise something that you cannot offer. This will only break people’s trust in you. And it is very hard to earn the customers’ trust once it’s lost. Therefore, be very careful before giving any false hopes to your target audience or existing customers. You cannot fool them.

Brand Image

The first thing that often comes to people’s minds when asked about a brand is the brand image. Remember that your brand is more than just a pretty face that you associate with it. Branding goes way beyond the visual aspects. It includes the emotional experience and the story that you narrate to your audience to connect on a personal level with them.

Some of the essentials that you need to focus on to create a strong brand image include:

  • Logo
  • Typography
  • Color Palette
  • Imagery

Consistent Brand Voice

You should take help from various platforms to channel your brand’s voice. For example, to highlight WOW Internet Customer service reps’ extraordinary response time and ability to solve the issue at hand in minutes, I used the social media platform including Facebook and Snapchat. You, as a marketer, can make use of traditional and modern ways to get your message across. The channels through which you channel your brand’s voice can include websites, brochures, social media platforms, and billboards.  

Apart from all these, you should also pay attention to Brand personality, values, development of a mission statement, and conveying your expertise with clarity.
