The FDB-12C Fiber Optic Distribution Box is an outdoor enclosure designed for splicing, splitting, and drop cable connectivity to meet the demands of high-density fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) access networks. With capacity for 12 customer connections in a compact IP55 wall or pole mount housing, the FDB-12C allows flexible fiber deployment suited to urban multi-dwelling unit (MDU) environments.
Applications
The FDB-12C provides a flexible fiber management platform to support fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) and fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network buildouts in space-constrained locations like apartment buildings, mixed-use complexes, and dense residential developments. Its IP55 rating ensures protection against dust and water ingress when pole or wall mounted outdoors.
Inside the enclosure, splicer technicians can integrate optical splitters to divide fiber feeder cable capacity up to eight ways while keeping splitter ports organized via routing clips. Below the splitter cavity lie 20 splice trays providing space for pigtail splicing and mechanical protection using heat shrink sleeves. Angled adapter panels located on the hinged front door provide a convenient connection point for up to 12 pre-connectorized drop cables.
By consolidating fiber distribution tasks in one sturdy housing, the FDB-12C accelerates service delivery in fiber-to-the-home networks across congested urban zones and multi-tenant buildings.
Specifications
The FDB-12C features a durable, injection-molded plastic housing sealed to an IP55 protection level against particulate and liquid ingress. Its 225 x 200 x 65mm dimensions allow for versatile wall or pole mounting using the included hardware.
The front-hinged enclosure provides access to a top-located splitter cavity able to integrate a 16-port PLC splitter. Below this lies 20 splice trays that accept heat shrink protective sleeves to secure fiber splices and prevent signal loss. Angled SC adapter panels provide connectivity for up to 12 subscriber drop cables.
PG cable glands on the bottom panel allow sealing of central or distribution cables from 6mm to 14mm, while 12 3mm glands provide sealing around individual drop cables. Unused gland ports feature a membrane-style seal pierced during cable insertion.
