The first half of 2025 is already over, and if you think you’ve seen everything interesting, look no further than the most exciting and ambitious games ahead. The second half of the year won’t be as quiet for the gaming world, but it will see a fiery explosion of projects we’ve been talking about and waiting for for years.
In this article, we’ll take a look at the most anticipated games coming for PC and Consoles, which will create a completely new gaming wave on both PC and consoles.
In general, the first half of 2025 was relatively moderate – a few AAA games, a few remasters, and indie hits. But studios are saving their big releases for August to December. Many studios rightly believe that the upcoming summer season – Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show and The Game Awards – is the best time to launch big games.
Horizon: Echoes of the Deep (Holiday 2025)
Sony’s Guerrilla Games has officially confirmed that the new Horizon adventure will be released just in time for Christmas. The game takes place after the events of Zero Dawn and Forbidden West and takes place in a new region – an ocean-based world, where underwater combat and new layers of ancient technology will be the central theme.
It seems that the game will be fully adapted to the unique capabilities of the PlayStation 5, although it has already been said that a PC port will also arrive in 2026. Graphically improved, emotionally charged and unexpectedly philosophical, Echoes of the Deep intends to be not only a continuation of the Horizon story, but also the beginning of a completely new era.
Clockwork Revolution (Fall 2025)
We continue our series of games that combine time manipulation and techno-fantasy. Clockwork Revolution is a new project created by Inhowe, which is similar to Bioshock Infinite, but in it the control of time is built much deeper and more systematically.
Parallel realities, morally complex decisions and the fascinating architecture of the steampunk world make the game one of the most unusual projects.
Great news for gamers – the game is released simultaneously on PC and Xbox Series X/S, which means that you will also see it on Game Pass on the day of release.
Project Re:Genesis (Q4 2025)
One of the most mysterious, yet buzzworthy projects. Project Re:Genesis has been in development for several years with “silent developers” – all that is known is that it is being developed by a Tencent-funded studio that is working on the maximum capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.
The game is a post-apocalyptic survival fantasy that combines RPG, colony builder, and real-time combat elements. Your decisions can change the entire city, the entire ecosystem – and, presumably, the entire story.
It is scheduled for release in December, and will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation simultaneously.
Monster Hunter: Rise of the Eclipse (November 2025)
Capcom’s big return to the franchise is going to be quite a buzzworthy one. The game promises new types of monsters, a new class system, and a largely open-world cooperative experience.
Rise of the Eclipse is a full-fledged AAA project – not a spin-off or an expansion. Here you will find a new continent, new environments – from tundra to volcanic islands – and completely reworked combat mechanics. For those who have not touched Monster Hunter before, this will be a great point to start.
The Rise of Ronin (PC Edition – September 2025)
Team Ninja’s game The Rise of Ronin has already been released on PS5, but the PC port is coming in September 2025, with improved FPS and mod support.
The game depicts the internal strife of Edo period Japan and the decline of the samurai era – with a dark, political and violent narrative.
If you like Soulslike games, but want the emphasis to be more on the story and characters, this game will definitely interest you.
Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Ascension (Expansion – Late 2025)
Capcom has already mentioned that the first major expansion for Dragon’s Dogma II – Dark Ascension – is coming by the end of the year. A new region, a new “pawn” system, and a deep lore-focused storyline will enrich the original game.
What About Indies?
It should be noted that several major indie projects are also on the way:
● Routine (reveal trailer 2025, release TBA) – a sci-fi horror game with a Lunar-level atmosphere
● Stormgate (beta ends August, full release in November) – one of the main hopes of the RTS genre
● Hollow Knight: Silksong – no matter what, if it doesn’t come out in 2025, we’ll protest
Time to Upgrade Your Library
If the beginning of 2025 was a slow start to updates and remasters, the second half of the year is a real “next gen” explosion. New IPs, sequels, stylistically diverse projects, and interesting mechanics.
PC and console gamers will not be left unappreciated this year. The main thing is to have an SSD, a little more RAM, and patience with you before the big story adventures begin.
